Why price varies: Gangotri package cost depends on your departure city, hotel category (standard/deluxe), group size, travel season (peak season rates differ from off-peak), and whether you add the Gaumukh trek extension. We quote transparently — no hidden charges after booking.

• From Rishikesh --Slightly closer to the hills; good for a calmer start to the yatra.
• From Delhi/Dehradun — We arrange pickup and add a night for road travel to Haridwar/Rishikesh before the main itinerary begins.

How Booking Works

3. Confirm with Advance Payment — Secure your dates with a partial advance; balance as per policy.

4. Travel with Support — We share your itinerary, driver/guide contact, and stay confirmation before departure, and remain reachable throughout your yatra. 

Pickup, Drop & Transport 

• Pickup points: Haridwar Railway Station, Rishikesh, or Dehradun (Delhi pickup arranged on request, with an added road day)
• Transport: AC/Non-AC vehicles depending on your package and group size
• The route to Gangotri temple is fully motorable — no trekking is required to reach the shrine
• Drop back at the same city at the end of the yatra 

Stay & Meal Details 

• Stay at verified hotels/dharamshalas at Harsil and Gangotri, chosen for cleanliness, safety, and proximity to the route
• Rooms typically on multiple/double sharing; upgrade to private rooms available on request
• Meals as per the confirmed plan (usually breakfast & dinner); simple vegetarian food is standard across the yatra route
• Basic amenities at higher altitude locations — we'll set correct expectations in advance

Best Time, Weather & Route Info

• Yatra season: Gangotri Dham typically opens around Akshaya Tritiya (late April/early May) and closes around Bhai Dooj (Oct/Nov) — exact 2026 dates are announced by the Char Dham Devasthanam Board closer to the season
• Best months: May–June and September–October offer clearer weather and moderate crowds; avoid peak monsoon (July–Aug) due to landslide risk on hill roads
• Route: Delhi/Haridwar/Rishikesh → Uttarkashi → Harsil → Gangotri (fully by road)
• Gangotri sits at approx. 3,048m/10,000 ft — weather is cold, especially mornings and evenings, even in summer

Safety, Medical & Senior Citizen Guidance  

• Gangotri is one of the more accessible Char Dham shrines since the temple town is motorable — but altitude and hill travel still call for basic precautions: 
• A basic medical fitness check is advisable for travelers with heart, lung, or mobility conditions, given the altitude
• Because the route is fully by road, Gangotri is generally easier for senior citizens and travelers who cannot trek compared to Yamunotri or Kedarnath
• Carry any regular prescription medicines, and inform your travel coordinator of existing medical conditions in advance
• We recommend travel insurance for high-altitude pilgrimages (not included in the package — can be arranged separately)
• Carry warm clothing — temperatures can drop sharply after sunset even in peak season
• The Gaumukh glacier trek beyond Gangotri is a separate, moderate-to-difficult undertaking requiring a permit, guide, and fitness preparation — this is not part of the standard darshan itinerary

Permits & Registration 

• Biometric registration is currently mandatory for all Char Dham pilgrims, including Gangotri, and is checked en route
• We assist with the registration process as part of your booking so you're not navigating it alone at the counter
• Carry a valid government photo ID (Aadhaar/Passport/Voter ID) for verification at checkpoints
• A separate forest permit is required if you extend your trip to the Gaumukh trek — we can help arrange this on request
