Vaishno Devi is one of India's most accessible major pilgrimages thanks to multiple travel options, but the trek still calls for basic preparation:
This is general guidance, not medical advice — please consult your doctor if you have health concerns before undertaking the yatra.
A free RFID Yatra Parchi (registration card) is mandatory for every pilgrim before starting the yatra, obtained at the Yatra Registration Counter in Katra
Rules are set by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) and may be updated season to season — we'll keep you informed of the latest requirement at the time of your travel.
Our package starts at ₹9,999 per person for 4 Days/3 Nights. Final cost depends on your departure city, hotel category, group size, and whether you add helicopter tickets. WhatsApp us for a live, exact quote.
A standard yatra from Delhi/Jammu takes about 4 days including travel time, registration, the trek or helicopter to Bhawan, darshan, and Bhairon Baba visit.
It's manageable for most senior citizens thanks to multiple options — helicopter, pony, palki, and battery car services cover most of the distance, with only a short walk remaining to the Bhawan.
The traditional trek is approximately 13 km one way, typically taking 5–8 hours uphill and 3–6 hours for the descent, depending on fitness and pace.
A valid government photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Passport) for every pilgrim and a free RFID Yatra Parchi, which is mandatory and obtained at the Katra registration counter. We assist with this as part of your booking.
March–June and September–November are generally considered the best months for comfortable trekking weather. The yatra remains open year-round, though monsoon and winter bring their own considerations.
Yes — unlike the seasonal Char Dham shrines, Vaishno Devi Yatra operates throughout the year, with occasional temporary suspensions during extreme weather.
Typically pickup/drop, road transport
to Katra, hotel stay, specified meals, RFID registration assistance, and yatra guidance. Helicopter tickets, pony/palki charges, personal expenses, and insurance are usually extra — we confirm exact inclusions in your quote.
We assist with helicopter slot booking guidance, but all official bookings are made directly on the Shrine Board portal at official rates — we never charge unofficial markups.
Tradition holds that the yatra is considered incomplete without Bhairon Baba darshan after visiting the Bhawan. It's about 2.5 km beyond Bhawan, reachable by a short trek or ropeway.
Yes — with the helicopter, pony,
palki, and battery car options available at various stretches, Vaishno Devi is one of the more manageable major pilgrimages for elderly travelers. We still recommend a basic health check and informing us of any medical conditions in advance.
Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket for evenings, personal medicines, a power bank, drinking water, and a government photo ID. Leather items, alcohol, tobacco, and non-vegetarian food are not permitted on the route.
Ardhkuwari is a sacred cave roughly halfway along the trek, believed to be where Mata Vaishno Devi meditated for nine months. Many pilgrims stop here for darshan and rest before continuing to the Bhawan.
Pickup and travel to Katra, check-in at hotel, RFID Yatra Parchi registration in the evening, rest and preparation for the yatra.
Begin the yatra via Banganga, Charan Paduka, and Ardhkuwari (or take the helicopter to Sanjichhat), reach the Bhawan, Mata Rani darshan. Overnight stay at Bhawan or Sanjichhat.
Visit Bhairon Baba temple (by ropeway or a short trek from Bhawan) to complete the yatra tradition, then descend to Katra by evening. Overnight stay in Katra.
Drive back to the pickup city; tour concludes with drop-off.
Prices starting at ₹9,999/person — limited slots for this month.
